Bridal Headpiece

A bride to be brought this unique headpiece into my workshop. She was quite distressed as she had spent alot of money on it and it hadn’t quite lived up to her expectations.
Whilst the beading was beautiful and intricate it didn’t actually fit around her head and it had a lot of excess netting which needed to come off.

I started by removing the excess netting to make the beading stand out more. I then removed the grips, which were not working for this particular headpiece, and added a gorgeous vintage button to fasten the sides together. It then fitted the bride perfectly.

Baseball hat repair

David’s designer cap has been his favourite head-wear for over 20 years.
It was literally falling apart ! I trimmed the frayed fabric back and then added a soft leather band around the peak.
It was then hand dyed to restore the original black colour.

Peaky Blinders cap

This Peaky Blinders cap had lost its button. I needed to make a new button in the same or very similar tweed fabric. Once the new button had been made I then unpicked the inside lining attached the new button and then re-stitched the lining.

Vintage Victorian Straw

This much loved vintage straw had fallen victim to a small 4 legged visitor and was out of shape.
