Couture Hat Design in Electric Blue and Gold
Mia was designed for a jumpsuit rather than a dress, which changes the maths for any milliner. With no skirt to balance the look, the hat carries the whole silhouette. Hand blocked and hand sewn in electric blue and gold sinamay for a high society occasion on the Italian coast, her sweeping asymmetric brim and continuous gold edge make her a true statement piece.
Sinamay was chosen for the Italian heat, holding its sculpted line where other materials would soften. Mia arrived as crisp as she left the Chipping Sodbury studio. Like every couture design Heather makes, she is one of one and will not be repeated.
